Union Industries, the UK market leading manufacturer of industrial rapid roll High Speed Doors, has replaced a problematic high speed door with a bespoke Bulldoor.
The Leeds-based roller door specialist has completed a second installation of a Union door for a customer who already has a door that has completed over a million cycles. This bespoke installation of a Bulldoor and a pedestrian door at Schneider Electric’s site in Bagillt, Flintshire, allows the fleet traffic and pedestrians to enter and exit the facility with no risk to safety.

The Bulldoor was installed to replace a defective high speed door that required a large investment to rectify its faults. The Bulldoor installation involved the reduction of the original opening from 5.6m x 5m to 4m x 4m and the separate installation of a pedestrian door to one side. The 1.6m per second operating speed at which the Bulldoor opens, with automatic closure, helps prevent heat loss to ensure temperature fluctuation is kept to an absolute minimum and energy is saved.
In common with the other doors in the range, the Bulldoor also feature Union’s highly-regarded ‘Crash-Out’ damage protection facility, which ensures that the door remains operable if the heavy duty steel composite bottom beam is hit by a vehicle.
