Hyster Europe has launched the new J4.0-5.0XN electric counterbalance forklift truck as the 4-5 tonne market segment shows an increase in demand for tough electric forklifts.

Electric forklift trucks now account for approximately 20% of the 4-5 tonne segment of the counterbalance market. As the price of fuel continues to rise and operations are increasingly sensitive to environmental concerns, high capacity, electric powered, counterbalance forklift trucks will become more and more prevalent in a wide range of applications.

Hyster features strongly in the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) portion of this market with leading diesel and LPG offerings, but for decades Hyster has also been supporting hundreds of customers throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa with 4-5 tonne electric counterbalance trucks.

Hyster is now proud to present its new addition to complete the 4-5 tonne offering with the tough new J4.0-5.0XN series. This powerful electric truck provides a low cost of operation and is designed for demanding applications such as metal fabricators, timber processors and handlers, beverage and bottling companies, breweries, paper manufacturers, pulp processors and automotive manufacturers amongst others.

Hyster recognises the importance of reliability, rugged design and load handling ability as many applications in these segments will be utilising specialist attachments and long forks to move their loads. Hyster has designed the truck to not only lift loads, but allow rock solid load handling.

The Hyster J4.0-5.0XN series incorporates the superb features of the new J-XN range including the ECO-eLo and HiP settings for optimum environmental and performance balance. AC traction and hoist motors give reliable, positive performance and the IP65 rated drive axle with maintenance free disc brakes means that the new electric truck delivers excellent performance indoors and outdoors.

Compact dimensions and extraordinary manoeuvrability are achieved by the combination of the dual drive front axle and Zero turn radius steer axle, which allows the driver to turn on the spot and achieve competitive aisle stacking widths of as low as 4,161mm (4 tonnes). This unique design has been carried through the J-XN range because it allows the best manoeuvrability without compromising on the operator ergonomics such as foot space.

Options include easily adjustable armrest with integrated TouchPoint mini levers, steering wheel with telescopic adjustment and memory tilt, Monotrol pedal, return to set tilt incorporated into the armrest, side battery removal, full or partial cabin with optional heater, impact sensor and carriage with integral side shift.

Hyster offers a high standard specification with superior ergonomics, high dependability, superb serviceability with 1000 hour service intervals and low maintenance costs, extended battery shift life and an array of options to make sure businesses can easily select the right truck for the specific application.

Hyster products are distributed and supported through an extensive network of authorised dealers, providing widespread local coverage through their sales and service locations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
