The installation of 70 loading bays at The Co-operative Group’s new distribution centre on Andover business park is the latest in a succession of high profile projects completed by Hörmann (UK) Ltd.

In the last 12 months Hörmann has also completed installations for Marks and Spencer, Asda, Amazon and Prologis amongst many others. High quality installations that deliver cost effective solutions, meeting the varied demands of a wide range of customers, also help Hörmann to push forward with new product development.

As a true one-stop-shop for loading bays and industrial doors, Hörmann are ideally placed to deliver the best solutions for all loading bay requirements. From doors to traffic control systems, Hörmann has the products and flexibility to meet the specific demands of any logistics operator. With integration at the core of the development process, dock levellers, door shelters, and ancillary equipment work together seamlessly, helping improve both efficiency and safety.

Hörmann’s project management approach that treats each site as a unique job means that improvements are made and value added throughout the process. For The Co-operative Group, Hörmann also installed the loading bays at their newly opened Newhouse, Glasgow distribution centre. At Andover the same swing lip dock levellers, insulated doors and dock shelters have been used to ensure consistency and familiarity across the network. At both sites the vehicle maintenance units also have the same insulated SPU sectional doors, however at the Andover centre Hörmann’s patented trip free wicket door has been fitted. This simple idea requires high quality precision engineering but means that this door can be used as a fire escape. Here there is no need for an additional side door reducing build costs and adding real value to the project.

By working on site Hörmann are able to react quickly to offer improvements to meet the evolving needs of each customer.

The Hörmann Group is an internationally-oriented, fast-growing company in the construction supplier industry.
