With an excellent take-up of stands for the next show and recent research showing the upbeat mood of the industry, the organisers believe that IMHX 2013 is set to be a record-breaking exhibition.

Following the resounding success of the 2010 show, which attracted over 350 exhibitors and more than 13,600 visitors, the joint organisers of IMHX – Quartz Publishing and Exhibitions Ltd and the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) – are delighted with the excellent stand sales for the next show, which takes place at the NEC from 19-22 March 2013. Said Rob Fisher, Publishing and Exhibitions Director for Quartz, “We’ve allocated some 8,300m2 to almost 100 exhibitors so far, which is absolutely fantastic. The fact that so many exhibitors from last year’s show have rebooked is testament to the power of IMHX to deliver high-quality leads and direct sales, as well as the unfailing attraction of face-to-face contact at trade shows for exhibitors and visitors alike.”

BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions reaffirms support as main sponsor

BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, main sponsor for the 2010 show, has confirmed that it will act as main sponsor again for IMHX 2013. As one of the UK’s leading providers of finance for forklift trucks, the company found that its sponsorship provided an excellent opportunity to showcase its expertise in the materials handling sector and develop its relationships with manufacturers and dealers. Nigel Samson, Head of Partner Sales at BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, commented, “Within our business, the whole team is focused on providing excellent service to our customers throughout the supply chain. This pursuit of excellence is very evident within IMHX, and therefore we are delighted to make the decision to continue our sponsorship.”

IMHX 2013 set to benefit from predicted upswing

According to independent research presented by Oxford Economics at the BITA AGM on 6 May, the economic forecast for the handling industry is promising. The figures show that the UK economy is gradually recovering, with the traditional economic drivers – such as financial services, construction and consumer and government spending – being replaced as the engines of growth during the next couple of years by manufacturing, exports and investment. This means that companies servicing the manufacturing sector, such as forklift manufacturers, are likely to benefit from the upswing. The research also included results from the first qualitative survey of BITA members, which indicated that they are overwhelmingly optimistic about the prospects for the UK truck market over the coming year. “This is great news for IMHX 2013,” commented James Clark, Secretary-General of BITA, “as the show will provide an ideal platform for our members and other companies in the handling and logistics sector to capitalise on the improving economic situation and the predicted growth in capital expenditure.”

Exhibitors include the industry’s top brands

IMHX 2013 is once again expected to attract all the major players in the supply chain and logistics industry, showcasing thousands of innovative products and services. Commented Tony Wallis, Operations Director for Toyota Material Handling UK, “IMHX 2010 was a great success for Toyota and is the showcase for the materials handling industry in the UK. Despite the harsh reality of the economy, we enjoyed our best show ever for the number of leads and opportunities presented post show. We have achieved some notable success since the show as a direct result of our attendance.”

A lively, informative and innovative event

IMHX 2013 will be co-located with The Cleaning Show, another established industrial event with excellent attendance figures, which will ensure a high flow of visitors between the two shows. The exclusive VIP valet parking scheme will return to IMHX, allowing top executives to drive straight up to the entrance, have their vehicle parked securely by a professional driver and enjoy access to the Premier Club Lounge with complimentary refreshments and Internet facilities. The Design 4 Safety competition, which proved extremely popular at the 2010 event, will take place again, allowing exhibitors to showcase innovative products and services that improve health & safety and operational efficiency. In addition, IMHX 2013 will feature an area for automation specialists – the AMHSA Zone, hosted by the Automated Material Handling Systems Association – that will be even larger than at the 2010 show. Plus, a popular feature making a welcome return to IMHX will be the free seminar programme, offering a series of informative sessions for visitors on a range of hot industry topics.

Stand discounts for a limited period

Taking place once every three years, IMHX is a must-attend event in the logistics and supply chain sector. With incentives for ‘early bird’ exhibitors and phased increases in stand rates as the show approaches, it pays to sign up early. Explained Rob Fisher, Exhibition Director, “We’re offering time-limited entry to our Premier Exhibitor Club, whose members enjoy a range of benefits including access for their VIP clients to the valet parking scheme, designated inner zone parking, access to the Premier Club Lounge and preferential marketing opportunities. The deadline for joining is August 31. By reserving their stand now, exhibitors can also enjoy a 15% discount on the final-phase show rates – prices now are actually lower than the final show rates the 2010 show!”
