As one of the most progressive packaging materials suppliers in the UK, Network Packaging continue to provide an impressive portfolio of the most innovative, creative and contemporary packaging solutions available. This is backed by extensive packaging industry knowledge and experience, together with excellent customer service.

One of their customers is West Midlands based Lexon, who have established themselves as one of the country’s leading pharmaceutical distributors, supplying independent pharmacies and major groups within the UK, including drug stores, chain stores and pharmacy groups. The family run business also has a rapidly expanding international client base.

Lexon’s 140 warehouse staff operate on two shifts and consists of experienced order pickers, collators and drivers. Their warehouse facility provides an efficient lead time on all placed orders, providing a daily service throughout the year.

Network Packaging have been supplying Lexon with packaging materials for over 12 years. During this time, they have carefully listened to their customer’s requirements and developed packaging solutions that have had a productive influence throughout the supply chain, whilst greatly improving the overall experience for Lexon’s customers.

Network Packaging’s Andy Plimmer said, “Our strength is being able to respond very quickly to supply and demand situations, when other packaging distributors often struggle.

Everything about our service, right through to delivery, is geared towards the customer, thereby ensuring that our packaging is always available and fit-for-purpose.”

Network Packaging supply the entire general packaging requirements for all departments at Lexon, including: cartons, bubble wrap, pallet wrap, printed tapes, labels, bubble bags, poly bags and pallet boxes. Lexon will typically use 10 pallets of cartons per day and up to 8 boxes of tape in the fulfilment of their orders. Given warehouse space restrictions, Network Packaging routinely establish minimum and maximum stock levels of packaging consumables held on site, so that Lexon only hold what they need. More frequent deliveries are run to offset this.

They have also designed and supplied a bespoke void fill air cushion system for three departments and developed an innovative range of temperature controlled transit packaging.

Lexon’s warehouse manager, Dawn Branford commented, “Network Packaging have been a trusted supplier for many years and throughout this time they have made a positive impact on our distribution. They are on site twice weekly and rectify issues efficiently, giving me the confidence and peace-of-mind I need to perform my role.

“For example, if we incur above average breakages of our products in transit, Network Packaging will quickly supply alternative protective packaging that will remedy the problem. They are also competitive on price, which of course is an added benefit.”
