Like a part of the body whose healthy working we take for granted, food and drink logistics are an essential part of business life that goes largely unappreciated. But the Food & Drink Logistics Show is here with a mission to change all that.

After a highly successful launch in March 2010, the Food & Drink Logistics Show returns to the NEC Birmingham from Sunday 27 February-Tuesday 1 March. As the Show’s official media partners Warehouse & Logistics News is proud to bring you this exclusive preview, in agreement with exhibition organisers William Reed.

‘FDLS’ is a must-attend event for everyone involved in the unique supply chain environment that exists in the food and drink sector. Taking time out to go to a show can be a challenge for busy managers. There are plenty of generalised warehousing and logistics shows, but not one focused on food and drink like this.

FDLS showcases the very latest warehousing and logistics products and services, tailor-made to help food and drink manufacturers and their supply chains improve efficiency and cut costs. You’ll find more information within this Preview, to help plan your visit and make the most of your day. Last but not least, you can also come and meet the Warehouse & Logistics News team at the Show, on stand J60.

Next question – who needs to come? In the grocery industry, suppliers, wholesalers and retailers alike, and in the foodservice sector, hotels, pubs, restaurants, caterers and the rest, all depend on the continued support of their supply chains to keep the food and drink products coming.

Quite simply, if you’re in the supply chain, you should be there. At each stage of the supply chain are warehousing and logistics operations working closely together to ensure the high volume throughput of products continues unabated. In each case everyone involved needs to stay on top of the game, and there’s plenty of inspiration on display at the Show.

What’s there? The Food & Drink Logistics Show covers all aspects of warehouse and logistics applications, with big name and specialist exhibitors. On the warehouse side forklift truck and other materials handling exhibitors include Aisle-Master, Narrow Aisle and STILL; lighting experts include Ecotronic, Lutterworth Ecolighting and Luxonic; storage and transit equipment suppliers include Craemer, Dynamic, The Rack Group, Linpac Allibert, PHS Teacrate and SSI Schaefer; warehouse IT providers include Belgravium, Proteus and Psion. Exhibitors ‘outside the warehouse’ include third party logistics services with a depth of food and drink experience – Britanny Ferries Freight, Malcolm Logistics, Minster Logistics, Norbert Dentressangle, Oakland International, Polymer Logistics, Rhys Davies, Savoye, Seafield and Widdowson. Pallet specialists at the show include CHEP, Payne Pallet Inverters, Premier Pallet Systems and Pall-Ex.

FDLS is more than just another exhibition – visitors can also hear from top speakers including Tate & Lyle, Cadbury and The Co-Operative Retail Group, get free advice in the OPS Advice Surgery, attend the launch of the CILT Food Logistics Forum, and test their skills in a bite-sized version of The Fresh Connection, presented by SCALA Consulting.

Have a great Food & Drink Logistics Show, and we look forward to meeting you.
