The new hub will be located at Fradley Park in Lichfield and will open at the beginning of August 2010. The new facility will allow UPN to double its capacity from 3,000 to 6,000 pallets per night and reduce the road miles travelled by UPN members by over 70,000 miles per annum.

A detailed analysis of our operations demonstrated that relocating the hub to a more central location would allow our members to reduce their costs and significantly improve our green credentials, which is vital in the current climate. The company acquired the premises at the beginning of April and development work will commence on the new site in May. David continues, “We are making a significant investment in the new facility and intend to begin operations before the 1st August 2010.
