One of the largest automated cold stores in the UK has just been completed by Stocklin on behalf of 3PL, Partner Logistics. Sited at Wisbech, the 30m tall building can be seen from afar and houses over 90,000 pallets at -28 deg C. Stocklin have provided 7 automated stacker cranes, conveyor systems and buffer despatch lanes creating a fully automated operation within the freezer. The pallets are stored using the Stocklin satellite system, allowing pallets to be stored 10 deep in lanes off the central crane aisle, thus giving excellent utilisation of the building cube. Each of the storage cranes handle 2 pallets at a time, providing the throughput to meet the demands of Partner Logistics demanding customer base.
