Benefits of our film
Less film is used so there is a direct reduction of costs. The strength of our film means it provides a higher yield than traditional film. On average a roll of our film wraps 4 pallets more per roll. Because of its strength less film is needed to secure a pallet. Traditional films “neck down” by up to 50% which effectively halves the width of the roll. Our film doesn’t so the pallet area can be covered more quickly using less of the roll. There is a lot less wastage when using our film, not only is there less film per pallet but it also has a high resistance to tears and punctures and 100% of the film is usable, right down to the core. Less labour time is needed. Not only does the operator not have to apply as much film, which means less walking round the pallet, but they also walk forwards and do not have to apply tension to stretch the film, making the job of wrapping a pallet less strenuous.
Improve your company’s image by reducing the number of pallets damaged in transit. Our film provides increased pallet stability which therefore results in less pallets being returned. The film has a pre-programmed memory which causes it to shrink for up to 30 minutes after application to fit the pallet, making the load exceptionally secure. The film has not been stretched beyond its working memory and therefore has an “elastic band effect” meaning it springs back into place much like an elastic band would when put under tension. When pallets move in transit our film is still effective at securing loads whereas other films lose strength when stretched.
Health and Safety is of growing concern so anything that can reduce risks is worth considering.
Our pre stretched film eliminates the need for intense stretching and force being applied in awkward positions, reducing the risk of back and muscular injuries. Traditional films have to be applied whilst walking backwards so that body weight can be used to maximise the stretch. Our film does not need to be stretched so can be applied whilst walking forwards. Not only is this more comfortable for the operator but it reduces the risk of trips and falls.
Benefits of using a dispenser
The dispenser makes wrapping a pallet even easier. It can be held with one hand and easily walked forwards around the pallet. The tension can be set by a screw on the dispenser which means the operator does not have to change the tension manually. The load is even more stable because wrapping the top and bottom of the pallets is easier and more effective.
The operator simply lifts the dispenser and carries on walking around the pallet with ease. Our film is far lighter than conventional film so even with the dispenser it can easily be lifted above head height. Our dispenser adds to the Health and Safety benefits. There is even less strain on the operator so less of a risk of muscle and back injuries.
Machine film
Golden Valley stocks a range of films to accommodate all machines on the market. We supply film in various microns up to 300% transverse stretch. In addition to clear film we supply blue tinted film for the food industry and can provide data sheets confirming the regulatory compliance of specifications. Black film and silage film are also available.
The Versatility of our film
Wrap it! Strap it! Ventilate it!
In addition to wrapping standard pallets we cater for other requirements. If products need to breathe the film can be applied twisting the dispenser which allows air into the pallet whilst at the same time providing stability and security.
When moving pallets around the warehouse ‘strapping film’ can be used to temporarily secure the pallet – half the price of tape and twice as strong. It is quick to apply and quick to remove with the added advantage that it doesn’t disfigure the box.
