befleetThe UK’s leading materials handling supplier and national service provider, Briggs Equipment, has today launched a unique asset management solution to help drive efficiency across business operations.

BE Fleet UK, a division of Briggs, enables customers to manage their fleet service costs and monitor real-time data from any internet PC through an innovative web-based application.

Easy to set up with no software installation, BE Fleet offers complete fleet visibility including real-time reporting, consolidated invoicing and the ability to review vital fleet statistics across multiple sites. All of these features allow fleet managers to make more informed decisions and facilitate strategic decision making, essential for today’s marketplace.

With electronic service dispatch, customers can also book service and dispatch across multiple service providers without having to pick up the telephone.

Tony Rooney, sales and marketing director at Briggs Equipment comments: “Managing a forklift fleet can be a time-consuming business. For some customers forklift management takes up to 40 per cent of their time, yet accounts for less than 10 per cent of their budget. BE Fleet gives them one central, easy to access system that provides transparency on fleet performance and offers results straight away.”

Over the past 12-18 months many companies have focused on cutting costs and managing their suppliers. BE Fleet gives customers complete fleet visibility in real-time and ultimate control over their supply chain to help them keep costs down.

“Through BE Fleet, managers can view and compare the performance of each truck,” continues Tony. “For example, with electronic service requests the application records communication and stores information, driving real-time reporting and tracking all communication. The solution also highlights the highest cost units enabling managers to quickly home in on underperforming trucks and take action.”

With customers such as The Wedge GroupTravis Perkins, D S Smith and Akzo Nobel using the system, BE Fleet is already having a noticeable impact on the market.

“Our business is already realising the benefits of having service provider performance and real-time reporting available at our fingertips,” says Mike Higgins, chief engineer at Akzo Nobel. “The accessibility of historical costs will provide us with information needed to make strategic decisions when analysing our materials handling equipment.”

Concludes Tony: “We are delighted to add BE Fleet to the wide portfolio of innovative services offered by Briggs in the UK. We have had excellent feedback on the benefits BE Fleet, especially as it allows you to work with multiple service providers across mixed fleets, generating real-time accurate costs for fleets or individual trucks.

“Ultimately BE Fleet provides intelligence for strategic decision making and adds value to all levels of our customers’ business.”
