Leading mezzanine floor company, the Spaceway Group, has launched FloorGuard a new UV acrylic lacquer mezzanine floor decking that fulfils the increasing demand for a factory-finished surface. Available in grey or clear as standard, FloorGuard’s top quality wearing surface is ideal for mezzanine platforms used for self-storage, garment hanging and retail applications and where hand pallet trucks or automated vehicles are in use.
FloorGuard panels are usually fixed simply and directly to the supporting structure, with the long edges running perpendicular to the beams. The boards are laid in a staggered ‘brick-bond’ pattern with the short edges always supported. The flooring panels are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 312-6: 1997 specifications.
As the credit crunch bites, Spaceway is finding an increasing number of companies are installing its FlooriTall™ mezzanine floors either as a result of consolidation or to avoid the cost of relocation. At around £80/m2, mezzanines are an inexpensive way of providing additional space for manufacturing, office accommodation, classrooms, retailing areas, storage and warehousing.
Easily and quickly constructed, FlooriTall mezzanines can be installed at the rate of 50m2 per day and can be extended, relocated or even dismantled and used again if a future move is ever undertaken. The FlooriTall mezzanines are available with a range of ancillary products including staircases and landings, handrails and guardrails, edge protection, loading gates and goods lifts.
“Many companies do not realise that if a mezzanine is not bolted to the building it is designated as being portable and as such receives a tax allowance”, said Malcolm Jeary, Chairman of the Spaceway Group. “Once the mezzanine is erected additional installations can be carried out on or below the mezzanine. Partitions for offices, reception suites, conference rooms, storage and warehousing can all be part of the total package”, he concluded.
