linq-tradeNational logistics service provider, LinQ Alliance, has added an extra two new dual branded trailers to its fleet. This brings its total fleet to over 3,000 curtain sided and other trailers and reinforces its position as a leading 3PL supplier.

Valued at over £60,000 the trailers have an M&G Chassis, Mercedes Benz axles and Micra bodies. They are 13.5 metre double flip deck trailers, which will form part of LinQ Alliance’s main fleet. The trailers will be utilised for moving goods from the company’s 34 operating centres throughout the UK.

Formed in 2003, LinQ Alliance brings together no fewer than 26 of the country’s leading regional transport and distribution companies to form a logistics network which offers manufacturers and retailers in the UK an innovative approach to supply chain management. The company presents a modern alternative to the 3PL and 4PL (third and fourth party logistics) sectors by providing a range of skills and facilities to cater for virtually every variety of consignment.

“Our two new trailers represent the ongoing investment made by our members in a successful 3PL solution”, says Gary Whittle of LinQ Alliance. “By integrating the many competencies within the Company, we have successfully produced a unique approach to supply chain management. Unlike many other national service providers, LinQ Alliance does not function with a complicated administrative structure and impersonal call centres.”

From its new Derby Headquarters, LinQ Alliance offers distribution services throughout the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and Eire, as well as links with European networks in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. The company has available in excess of 2,500 vehicles throughout 40 centres across the UK, delivering a range of facilities that include transportation, warehousing, distribution and added value services.
