lwd-1626-83TM Logistics (TML) is on a mission to drive its way out of the recession under a bold new sales and marketing strategy.

The move sees new sales manager Andy Lawrence being brought in to take forward a five-year programme of business growth that firmly positions TML as ‘recognisably the best logistics service provider in the UK.’

It is an ambitious approach in tough times, but TML is defying the current economic climate and is clear there is an opportunity to be seized.

TML’s managing director Grahame Taylor said: “We’re not just riding our way out of the recession. We’ve made a deliberate decision to raise our game and focus on sales.

“Under our new sales strategy, we are placing ourselves in a position of strength, so ultimately we will emerge as the leading independent at the forefront of our industry.”

Until now, TML has focused on establishing itself in niche markets – packaging, construction, food and drink and automotive – with top name clients including Worcester, Bosch Group, Crown Food UK, Kingspan Insulation, Rexam Beverage Can UK and Saint Gobain Isover.

The next 12-months will however see a shift in focus for TML as the company develops business opportunities in new sectors.

“We’re exploring different sectors and new approaches which potentially will see us diversifying away from our traditional markets,” said Andy Lawrence.

“This will see us investing in areas and services where we can add real value to our customers and ourselves by bringing efficiencies across our network and methods to further enhance our overall service offering.

“For example, warehousing is a key part of our growth strategy where we are looking to increase our market presence.

“Our existing portfolio includes sites in the Midlands, West Yorkshire and the South East and we are now looking to offer shared use of facilities to customers.”

After just 11 weeks in his new role, this ambitious approach is already paying off.

tm-logistics-logoMr Lawrence added: “Recently, we’ve seen a marked increase in serious enquiries from both medium and large size organisations and we see this trend continuing as companies review their logistics costs and value added services.”

TML employs over 350 people across 16 on-site operations and warehouses across the UK.

Nationally, the firm operates a fleet of over 200 vehicles and 300 trailers.
