still-fm-xCalor to sponsor 2009 Fork Lift Truck Association Safety Conference

Calor, the UK’s leading LP gas supplier, has joined forces with the Fork Lift Truck Association to sponsor this year’s Safety Conference. The event will be staged at Warwick University on Wednesday 30th September.

Now in its seventh year, the national Safety Conference addresses the issues and problems which directly impact upon users of fork lift trucks. An expert line-up of speakers will offer attendees the practical guidance they want and – more importantly – need.

This year’s theme, Understanding and Communicating the Risks, covers a packed programme of presentations that will show what the fork lift industry is doing – and what individuals can do – to highlight potential health and safety risks in the workplace.

“Calor was the obvious choice as an event sponsor,” says FLTA Chief Executive David Ellison. “As a company, they have an unmatched reputation for supporting the safe operations of thousands of businesses in the UK. And for good reason – as the very nature of the LP gas product requires a thorough understanding of safe practices, including hazard identification.”

Representatives from Calor will be on hand throughout the event to advise delegates and will host a seminar on the best practice for LP gas fork lift trucks. David Ellison adds: “Calor has a tremendous amount of experience, so it promises to be a very informative session.

“The Safety Conference presents an invaluable opportunity to hear about the current research and the latest products available to enhance British workspaces. This year, for example, we have a speaker from the Health & Safety Executive who will reveal outcomes from recent research into causes of investigated fork lift truck accidents and incidents.

“Solid, practical talks such as this will be of benefit to everyone involved in the use of fork lift trucks. That includes owners, providers, site managers, trainers, safety officers and even those who only occasionally hire lifting equipment. Each will go away with essential knowledge that can be applied to his or her own workplace.”
