parkerdistribution08.jpgHaving long been associated with raising standards of safety and efficiency in manual handling, Hertfordshire-based Stanley Handling was delighted to become one of the first venues in the South East to host new City & Guilds Train the Trainer Courses.

The City & Guilds Certificate in Manual Handling Train the Trainer was developed by health, safety and environmental consultant Dr Alistair Bromhead, the only trainer in the UK able to offer the qualification. Unlike many courses, which use internal certification from the training provider or have third party certification for a manual handling element within a more generalist course, the C&G accreditation provides a nationally recognised manual handling instructor qualification.

The two day course – the latest took place on February 18th and 19th – was designed to equip managers with the knowledge and skills to run their own training sessions on the safe handling of goods and materials. Of value to those wishing to become manual handling trainers, as well as those already practising, who need fresh ideas and motivation, achieving the City & Guilds certification improves technique and builds confidence. As an established training provider, Stanley Handling sees hosting Train the Trainer courses as a great opportunity to further drive up standards within the industry.
