Leading trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull has opened a new UK regional business centre (RBC). It is hoped that the facility, in Warrington, Cheshire, will become a focal point for Schmitz Cargobull’s customers throughout the north west of England.
Built on a 2.5 acre site, the 11,000 sq ft unit comprises offices, a trailer showroom, workshops and a parts store. It will house a permanent display of new Schmitz Cargobull trailers as well as an extensive fleet of quality used and refurbished models. In addition a large stock of spare parts will be held at the site enabling Schmitz Cargobull to offer both same-day and next-day delivery within the north west region, while the ultra-modern workshop will ensure that trailer downtime is kept to a minimum.
The opening of the new centre represents the latest step in Schmitz Carogbull’s strategy to boost its coverage throughout the UK market. The company already operates similar facilities in Essex and from its UK manufacturing plant near Newcastle upon Tyne and has plans to open additional RBCs in the south west, the Midlands and Ireland.
“Essentially, the regional business centres will operate like owned dealerships,” explains Derek Skinner, Schmitz Cargobull’s, technical director. “They will perform different but entirely complementary functions to those undertaken by our existing service partners, who we will continue to work with.
“The RBCs will enable us to raise Schmitz Cargobull’s profile within the regions where they are located and will improve communication lines with our clients by making them more direct. We believe that to achieve customer loyalty it is important that a trailer manufacturer is not only an expert in trailer building and design but also has extensive knowledge of the market and its requirements. The RBCs will help us to get closer to our clients and to understand and respond to their needs as quickly as possible.”

We hope our customers will come to view the facility site as a place where they can go for friendly trailer advice as well as somewhere where new and used trailers can be seen and assessed, parts can be ordered, trailers taken for repair and finance options discussed.”
