maher_exterior.jpgMaher Terminals, one of the world’s largest independent multi-user container terminal operators, recently purchased and erected their 14th Rubb structure at their facility in Port Elizabeth, New Jersey. The building, a 90′ (27.43m) wide by 173′ (52.7m) long BVE with sidewalls of 26′ (8m), utilised Ferrari 932 fabric and featured an I-beam foundation with ground anchors. Since the structure’s intended use was for sand and salt storage, both gable ends were left open with large framed openings, permitting easy access to the stored materials.

Maher Terminals now has Rubb products of just about every type at their site including THX, BVE and BVR range structures. These buildings are being used for a myriad of purposes including maintenance and repair facilities, tank covers and salt storage, making use of the outstanding flexibility of the Rubb construction methods and materials. This busy terminal prides itself in the quality of the facilities available and they are continually making improvements to better serve their clients.

Don Olesky, Maher’s Director of Facility Maintenance, commented, “The decision to go with Rubb was an easy one. Maher Terminal’s Engineering evaluated the Rubb Structures and found them to be a quality product, at a reasonable prices, for the intended use. We also found the Rubb organisation to be a professional group who were easy to work with from purchase to installation.  The buildings were installed on time and within budget.”

The Rubb organisation, with production facilities in Great Britain, Norway and the United States, is recognised as a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of relocatable structures and is quality certified to ISO9001:2000.
