More than 300 supply chain and retail professionals gathered to enjoy two insightful days at RedPrairie’s “Extreme Performance” themed international user conference, RedShift International, which this year took place at St. John’s Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham, UK.

RedPrairie customers from 14 countries united to share examples of how they have achieved “Extreme Performance” in their operations and the lessons learned in the process.

Customer keynote sessions featured Peter Voorhoeve, SCM Programme Director, Volvo Parts, presenting how Volvo Parts is currently rolling out RedPrairie’s WMS solution as a global standard across 35 countries and six continents, and Steve Walker, Supply Chain Solutions Director EMEA & CIO Middle East, DHL, presenting how DHL established a distribution centre in just two weeks under extreme conditions in the desert of Kuwait.

Microsoft, who was the diamond sponsor of the event, held a keynote session on how leading edge technology from Microsoft and RedPrairie enable supply chains to react to consumer demand in real-time.

A total of thirty different sessions were held and featured speakers from customers including Carphone Warehouse, Davies Turner, Mitchells & Butlers, Oxford University Press, and TDG.

A guest keynote was given by leading polar explorer Ben Saunders. Ben is the youngest person ever to ski single handedly to the North Pole and shared his experiences of performing under extreme conditions. (www.bensaunders.com)

An evening cocktail reception and gala dinner took place at the Birmingham Town Hall, a historic piece of architecture that had recently undergone a €50m renovation. Here delegates raised more than £3600 for ORBIS, a non-profit charity organization fighting blindness in developing countries.
