brc-accreditation.jpgA Midlands-based logistics company has achieved official industry recognition for its consistent delivery of high quality standards. Ralph Coleman, which is based at Holly Lane Industrial Estate, Atherstone, Warwickshire, is one of only two UK logistics firms to have achieved British Retail Consortium (BRC) accreditation. Managing Director Alan Pitman said: “As an independent company, operating in a fiercely competitive marketplace, we felt it was important to work towards gaining this accreditation to demonstrate our commitment to quality service and health and safety.

“Although we know we operate to the highest standards, gaining the official recognition was a big boost. The BRC standard was developed by UK supermarkets to help ensure that companies involved in the food supply chain meet a certain criteria, which ultimately protects the consumer. It is regarded as an industry benchmark.”

External auditors spent time at the company’s HQ, assessing everything from internal systems and housekeeping and hygiene to staff training.

Ralph Coleman operates across a number of sectors, including food retail, providing supermarket chains with a crate and pallet washing service. As well as this facility it provides customers with long and short-term storage facilities at its four warehouses and operates its own fleet of vehicles.
