CopriSystems has installed a canopy at London’s Heathrow cargo terminal. Side wall mounted onto an existing warehouse, the canopy is being used to extend the storage capability for Swissport Cargo Logistics Company. Working on behalf of a number of international airlines, Swissport Cargo handle imported and exported cargo which is held in a secure customs bonded building. Internal space needed to be freed up within the warehouse. Special energy efficient lighting has been installed which respond to a motion sensor and specific design modifications had to be made to accommodate an existing overhead structure.
The building itself is located in the world cargo complex centre away from passenger terminals. Both ends of the canopy are secured by gate style doors. Measuring 18.5m long, 9m wide and 4.3m high, the canopy sits on an existing car park area. Alternative car parking spaces have been secured to allow for the canopy.
