j28.jpgClearway, the South Normanton, Derbyshire, based warehouse and transportation company, has joined the small group of UK warehouse operators holding a MHRA licence allowing protected storage of medicines and healthcare products. The development, which follows a £100,000 investment in capital equipment, monitoring systems and staff training, gives Clearway the means to store and distribute the complete range of prescription, over-the-counter, veterinary and healthcare medicines. According to managing director, Graham Darnell, the licence now enables Clearway to store and transport all the items used in the trade from the humble tissue upwards.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve gained considerable experience in this area in the run up to accreditation and we are now able to offer this service to all  UK traders, manufacturers and wholesalers.  And with a quarter of our 29,000 pallet spaces available for pharmaceutical storage, we intend to become a major player in this very specialised market.  The opportunities for expansion are also apparent and we anticipate creating up to 12 new jobs over the next year to meet demand.”

In addition to Clearway’s South Normanton operation, there are a further 13,000 pallet spaces in a non MHRA licensed warehouse adjacent to the M1 in Bulwell, Nottingham.
