The new GenEX 16-20s: stronger, more versatile, more economical. The new, four-wheel, electric GenEX 16-20s series from Clark, with load capacities of 1.6 to 2 tonnes, have an unusually high steering angle which offers superb versatility. The overall impression of innovation is rounded off by the minimal turning radius and spin turn, the maintenance-free, regenerative wet disc brakes, excellent gradeability and the benefits of the safe, 100 per cent AC technology. The latest AC controls also make this an economical, high-performing and very productive machine.
Technical refinements: Spin turn
Other outstanding features of the GenEX 16-20s, which lacks none of the key characteristics of the GenTX and has comparable performance data, include the dual drive motors with counter rotation which provide added traction even on wet and uneven surfaces. And, particularly, the pivot point between the drive wheels, which gives the smallest possible turning radius. The fact that both wheels can be driven counter rotationally means there is less wear on the wheels, and the 101° steering angle causes less wear on the steering tyres than with conventional 4-wheel forklifts. The steering sensor also ensures that the position of the steering wheels is constantly being transmitted to the controls.
Top protection for motors and controls
All the motors are fully enclosed so they are protected against dust, water and dirt particles, while motor temperature monitoring curbs the power whenever temperatures approach a limit. All the control elements are also enclosed, so are protected against ambient factors, and raised high above the ground at the counterweight for further protection.
TFT display and more: intelligence included
Real-time operating data, recorded by a reliable CAN bus system, is clearly displayed on a TFT LCD colour display. 80 self-diagnostic fault codes are stored and can be displayed, and almost 80 operating parameters such as maximum speed, hydraulic flow volume, acceleration and brake power can be separately adjusted to suit working conditions and the driver. And all this, moreover, not with a separate, expensive handset or laptop, but with the intelligent display and a simple password function. For enhanced comfort and simpler usability, plus a high degree of safety, a specially developed, reduced-noise hydraulic pump and a spring-mounted driver seat are amongst the numerous options also available.
