chepnews.jpgRetriever Communications has extended its relationship with CHEP, world leaders in equipment pooling systems, with the development of a mobility application to support the field activities of CHEP’s quality control staff. The Retriever solution, which helps automate the quality inspection process surrounding their omnipresent blue pallets, will be delivered across the UK and Europe. Being the market leader in the pallet rental business, CHEP operates in an environment of continuous competition. Like many businesses an ongoing focus on how it delivers value to its customers is paramount to its success. Only by delivering a consistent and quality service to its customers can CHEP maintain its trusted and best of breed relationship within the market.

This ‘customer’ focus lead CHEP to pursue a Retriever mobility solution to make it’s service delivery more efficient. Automating its product quality processes was seen as the best way to deliver value innovation to its customers.

“We believe this solution will help increase the efficiency of our unified quality control process for Europe by reducing the time taken to complete audits in the field and cutting down on current administration tasks in the office. By making our processes better we are in a better position to ensure the quality and reliability of CHEP pallets for our customers.” Andy Trueman, Regional Quality Manager, CHEP Europe.

CHEP’s Quality Management team are taking advantage of Retriever’s enterprise grade wireless field force automation solution. The solution specifically involves tailored Retriever Mobile and Retriever Schedule applications that are designed to dynamically connect CHEP’s field and plant based European quality teams with its centralised management infrastructure.

The project, being run from Retriever’s offices in the UK, is an extension of other applications delivered by Retriever for CHEP’s operations in Australia and China.
