COBA International Ltd has recently acquired Moving Edge Ltd, a well established UK based company manufacturing an innovative range of safety knife products. Formerly based in South Wales, Moving Edge officially transferred its business in July 2008 to COBA’s head office and manufacturing facility in Leicestershire which it now shares with COBA Plastics Ltd and COBA Europe Ltd. The entire operation from manufacture to sales administration and despatch is now in full swing at Fleckney and will continue to trade as Moving Edge Ltd, as part of the COBA International group of companies.

The Moving Edge collection of safety knives includes the popular GR8 range that makes easy and safe work out of cutting packaging materials, even notoriously stubborn cardboard. Also available is the ultra versatile DBX model, more akin to a traditional open bladed knife but with many safety features. The DBX is considered to be one of the safest open bladed knives available. DBX safety features include the guard that protects the user from coming into contact with the blade during the cut as well as a replaceable cartridge that encases the blade with built-in snapper.
This GR8 product range includes three models – the Dispo, Primo and Pro. All feature a patented ‘moving action’ finger safe blade which not only eliminates cut-related accidents, but also minimises the risk of damage to stock when cutting packaging. A full range of options, including food safe versions, is available to ensure outstanding cutting performance and operator safety.
Michelle Parker, who was employed by Moving Edge under its previous ownership, has also moved to the COBA International group as Business Development Manager for this product range.
