boc.jpgA new In-Mould Label RFID label for long term use has been developed by inotec UK. The label can be moulded directly into the component giving the ultimate bond as the label becomes part of the finished item. Available in vivid full colour, items such as warning signs, information and static or sequential barcodes can also be incorporated. As the label does not have an adhesive element it is particularly desirable for pharmaceutical and clinical applications as no bacteria can build around the flush edge of the image and the RFID component is totally protected between this layer and the moulded item. A choice of High Frequency and UHF tags are available matched to the application.

Due to the increasing function of RFID in logistics and industrial applications, it is becoming increasingly important that items such as crates and pallets are provided with long life labels with unique codes but until now this has not been available as an in-moulded product.

inotec’s DIObond RFID labels can be supplied plain or pre-printed with variable data such as barcodes or sequential numbering. Different shapes along with full colour logos and graphic designs are also options. There are hardly any restrictions in the design of these made to measure in-mould labels.

Printed on material specially developed by inotec with a matched UV protective lacquer and patented RFID attachment process, the label resists high pressure industrial cleaning machines along with a variety of chemicals and solvents and is UV stable to BWS6 level and beyond.
The DIObond RFID product is therefore ideal for the permanent and durable identification of plastic crates, pallets, containers and all other plastic injection moulded products.

The substrate can be matched to mould to a range of plastics including polyethylene, ABS, polypropylene, polystyrene, nylon and polycarbonate.

Samples and test labels are available by contacting inotec.
