mt-adamson145.jpgThe Scottish chilled and frozen food distribution specialist Adamson Group Services Ltd has signed a major contract with Masternaut Three X for a comprehensive back-office transport system that integrates fully with its cutting-edge web-based fleet management system. Adamson leads the way as the first UK logistics company to invest in the Microsoft Dynamics GP software-based system, which provides a complete end-to-end transport solution. This powerful solution allows a seamless flow of information between the vehicle telematics system and the back-office, and, with the implementation Adamson sets the benchmark for the entire UK transport and distribution industry.

The Adamson Group will be heavily involved in the development of the software’s Sales Order Processing (SOP) module to meet the varied and sometimes complicated needs of the Transport and Distribution sector.

“Once we have developed the SOP module to meet the needs of our operation, we will have the ability to combine data from numerous sources with a few clicks of the mouse. This will greatly enhance our management reporting capabilities allowing us to analyse performance not only at a global level, but by depot, vehicle and even by individual routes, enabling us to target our sales and marketing activities and ensure we bring in new business in the right areas, utilising available capacity without the need to introduce additional resources and cost,” says Malcolm Wilde, Adamson Group Managing Director.

Commenting on the importance of this software investment, Malcolm Wilde says: “Having a back-office system with the potential to seamlessly integrate Traffic Management, Accounts, Vehicle Location and Web Applications is the Holy Grail for Transport operators. Particularly in the current climate with fuel and other costs escalating at an alarming rate, margins are under more pressure than ever before. Indeed, within four weeks of the consultants visit, we had signed up for the system with an initial investment of £30,000 over five years.”
Adamson Group has been a Masternaut Three X customer since 2003 and was one of first companies in the UK to adopt the Masternaut real-time vehicle tracking solution.

“I am genuinely excited about our further investment in this technology and our on-going association with Masternaut Three X who are fast becoming the leading technology company in the Transport & Distribution sector,” concludes Malcolm Wilde.
