Chorley based logistics firm, Imperial Multipart (Holdings) Ltd, has been bought by its management team in a £20 million deal. Multipart specialises in supplying spare parts and components to the automotive, defence and utility sectors. Clients include Maxus, Isuzu Truck (UK), TVR, Modec and Dennis Eagle in the automotive sector; BAe Systems, MBDA and the Ministry of Defence in the defence sector; and Anglian Water Services in the utility sector. The business employs over 200 staff and has annual sales of over £70 million.
Led by directors, Chris Gateley and Paul Roberts, the business will continue operating in its main sectors, but will also look to further explore opportunities in retail and utilities. The firm has recently signed a further contract with Anglian Water Services using its unique Msys Mobile Resource Management capabilities which helps create operational and hence financial efficiencies in mobile resource applications such as the water industry where large water meter replacement programs are underway.
The company will also build on the success of its award winning information systems which simplifies the supply chain management process through full system integration and delivers highest levels of benchmark performance.

In addition to its head office and 268,000 sq.ft. Warehouse in Chorley, Multipart has three other UK sites in Crick, North Luffenham and Bicester. The company also has a French subsidiary and site in Metz.
