sparks.jpgSparks Transport, one of the leading providers of transport and distribution services, is adding six new Renault Premium 450.25 tractor units to its 70-strong fleet. The company already owns a number of Renaults but its fleet is predominantly Scania, so this is an important deal for Renault Trucks South West which supplied the vehicles. The high spec. Euro 5 Renault Premiums, which have the Optidriver+ automated gearbox and Privilege cabs, will be used to undertake haulage for the UK operation of Sparks Transport, moving products including food, drink, clothing and electronics, across the UK.

Jonathan Sparks, Managing Director, Sparks Transport, says: “We purchased our first Renault Premium in 1998 and have increased this to twelve in the last 10 years. When looking to expand our fleet, we chose to add an extra six Renault Premiums as we are very happy with the way our trucks perform, particularly with regard to fuel consumption. The new trucks use AdBlue and we will be looking closely at SCR versus EGR to see which suits us best.”

Established in 1933, Sparks Transport is a family business, offering daily services throughout the UK and Mainland Europe. It is one of the largest privately owned transport companies in the South West of England, operating from its seven acre site in Glastonbury, Somerset. Sparks Transport offers a diverse range of services, from warehousing and transportation to distribution in the full load and groupage markets, using taut liners, euro liners and refrigerated vehicles. The company has its own fully comprehensive workshop on site in Glastonbury.
