The UK’s fastest growing plastic pallet company, Goplasticpallets.com, is introducing a range of long-lasting non-slip products, widely considered as the “holy grail” of the pallet world. Jim Hardisty, managing director of Goplasticpallets.com, said: “In the past, customers have often asked for non-slip pallets, and some manufacturers have tried to apply non-slip surfaces, but without long-term success. They have either performed inadequately from the start or their usefulness has been very short-lived, with their rubberised surfaces peeling or breaking down.
“Working with one of our key suppliers, Innova Packaging Systems (IPS) of Belgium, we are now able to offer a range of pallets with non-slip strips and grommets made of wear-resistant material based on copolymers of ethylene. The strips are heat-welded into grooves on the pallet surface and trials have shown that the life of the non-slip strips is between five and 10 years.
“The pallets’ big advantage is that they offer better load stability, with increased safety and less risk of product damage or wastage through goods slipping off during transportation. These advantages are especially noticeable when the pallets are being moved by fork lift, and even more so when they could be made slippery by rain.”
New non-slip pallets reduce product damage
Goplasticpallets.com is offering non-slip models in both virgin and re-cycled material, in three colours (red, blue and green), and in two sizes (1200mm x 1000mm pool pallet and 1200 x 800mm EuroPallet).
Hardisty adds: “There is a slight premium on the product price, but these pallets will more than pay for themselves through minimised levels of product damage and wastage.”
