freight.jpgIn order to better reflect its growth across Europe, one of the original freight exchanges, X4freight, is changing its name to Freightex on 24th June 2008. It will continue to operate its successful exchange platform which matches unallocated freight with empty vehicles, helping companies optimise road freight and vehicle capacity across Europe. “It is known that around 30% of trucks on the road are empty, with no load for the return leg of their journey,” says Freightex CEO Tim Phillips. “Quite simply, our system allows us to identify where efficiencies can be made in the transport of goods between the UK and mainland Europe. This not only offers environmental benefits, but potential cost reduction for consignors and revenue gains for the carrier.”

More than just an ‘internet noticeboard’, Freightex’s multilingual operations team manages all aspects of quality assurance, payments and insurance for consignors, from accepting the load, ensuring the carrier is vetted to making sure the delivery is on time. Similarly, for carriers, it offers the opportunity of increased revenue through a reduction in empty legs, and the security of good payment terms on production of the required documentation.

Developed over almost a decade, Freightex’s advanced technology gives a real-time view of trucks and loads throughout Europe, finding the most efficient vehicle/freight matches for loads at any given time.

“As we continue to expand in Europe we felt it appropriate to adopt a more widely recognisable name. This has given us the opportunity to refresh other elements of the brand ID including the new website www.freightex.com, but customers can be assured that our commitment to service remains as high as ever.”
