tag.jpgAutomated warehouse and sortation specialist Dürkopp Fördertechnik has developed an innovative multiple use RFID device called Rolladapter to track individual hanging garments and other similar products in real time, throughout the warehouse from goods-in to dispatch. Successfully operating in the distribution centre of Klingel, a leading German Internet shopping business, the Rolladapter device is equally effective in managing single home delivery items and for handling volume stock destined for retail outlets.

The Rolladapter enables individual hanging items to be transported along an overhead conveyor system from induction onwards, and is programmed to carry all relevant product information for tracking, sorting, and printing labels and bar codes. Each Rolladapter has its own unique product identification and can be recognised by readers at any stage. The device is automatically removed at the end of the process for re-use on incoming stock, keeping operational costs down.

A full Dürkopp designed Rolladapter-based storage, automated picking and retrieval system running on a closed overhead aluminium rail, can read items at a rate of 8,000 items per hour or more.

Dürkopp Fördertechnik is a leading European designer and supplier of advanced automated storage, sortation and retrieval systems specialising in hanging garments and automotive products for clients such as Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Next, DaimlerChrysler and Siemens.
