Supporting continued volume growth and sustained service levels across the network, palletised distribution specialists Palletline Plc have announced the appointment of a new member company, further strengthening the system’s coverage in the Derbyshire area. Established as a limited company in 1959, Ascott Transport Ltd (ATL) has realised significant growth over the years, developing from a small transport company to a multimillion-pound warehousing and distribution business operating from a 15 acre site in Foston, near Derby.
Recent investment in purpose built premises, a modern fleet, efficient warehousing and the latest IT systems play a key role in the company’s continued development, with long established trading relationships with existing customers testifying to the success of the ATL approach.
Joining the Palletline System is an integral part of ATL’s long-term business plans. “Looking to the future, membership of a pallet system provides us with a stable and sustainable route for continued growth at Foston, where we have already invested significant sums over the past year,” commented director Pete Ascott. “We see this as a very positive move, enabling us to achieve further consolidation of loads and a subsequent reduction in carbon emissions.”
