daifuku-cemat.jpgMajor European launches from Daifuku at leading intralogistics event. Technologies that deliver ultra-high densities and also high outputs will be launched at this years CeMAT event (Hannover, 27th-31st May) by Daifuku, one of the world’s largest suppliers of automated materials handling systems. European launches will include one of the world’s tallest high-bay cranes and a unique synchroniser twin crane AS/RS. “With Daifuku’s new 40m high-bay crane, we are responding to an increased demand for storage of materials of a standardised footprint. The double-depth storage and ultra-high capability provides a much higher storage density and floor utilisation,” explains Craig Rollason, sales and marketing manager UK & Ireland.

Also unveiled will be the Synchroniser Automated Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS), which can perform substantially faster than a dual fork mini load AS/RS. With both of its cranes capable of travelling at up to 400m/min with a vertical speed of up to 100m/min, the Synchroniser delivers a potential of up to 400 totes/cartons in per hour and 400 totes/cartons out per hour. “This technology has been developed to have high throughput and reliability,” claims Rollason. “It will make a substantial contribution to increasing the efficiency and return on capital for many types of operation.”
With two cranes working simultaneously on a single rack, loads can be moved individually or the cranes can join forces to work together for moving larger loads. Weight capacities vary from 30 to 60 kg with either single or double operation.

Away from class-leading products, Daifuku will be showcasing its new DAGUARD maintenance and analysis tool. As well as reminding of upcoming maintenance work, the software also offers numerous monitoring and diagnostic functions to help ensure that integrated systems continue to deliver optimum performance over their entire life cycle. For instance, the system continuously calculates the projected lifespan of the individual plant components. If the lifespan drops below one year, the system informs the operator. Crucially, DAGUARD also offers fault diagnosis capabilities, and offers graphical reports for ease of maintenance. ‘DAGUARD is much more than maintenance software. The system provides monitoring of the life cycle of components, and this minimises life cycle costs’, emphasises Rollason.

“Our skills are well suited to all sizes of automated handling system, from small projects up to the very largest, highly integrated systems. We also have proven expertise upgrading existing systems to increase efficiency or adapt capabilities to match new throughput profiles. We look forward to seeing existing and potential clients at CeMAT,” concludes Rollason.

Daifuku’s stand will feature an exclusive warehouse aisle demonstrating an AS/RS in action, therefore allowing trade visitors to experience the high-quality handling characteristics of Daifuku’s machines and integration services.

CeMAT, in Hannover, runs from the 27th-31st May. Daifuku will be located in Hall 27, Stand H 39. For more information go to www.cemat.de
